This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. It includes the roles played by workers, from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others. The Award requires 10 credits.
On successful completion of the course, you will achieve the following qualification: Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care [NCFE]
This course will be offered online. Your classes will be held via MS Teams. You will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment. Typical activities will include group work, pair work, discussion and case studies. All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.
A good level of English is required.
You do not need to be working or undertaking a practical placement to take this qualification.
You should arrive to your lessons prepared to learn with pens, pencils and a writing pad. All other resources and materials you need will be provided. You will need access to IT to access your online lessons and complete your assignments.
