As one of the first adult learning Colleges in the U.K to acknowledge the importance of Jazz and Afro-Cuban music as art forms, Morley College has a range of courses designed to help musicians develop their appreciation and understanding of these idioms at all points in their musical journey.

Morley College offers classes designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced players and most students will easily find a course that suits their needs. Students can learn how to play an instrument from scratch in our instrumental classes, start exploring strategies to improvise in the Jazz workshops, refine their jazz and blues piano skills, or join an ensemble including one of the four Big Bands.

Lessons are taught by leading practitioners who are delighted to share their enthusiasm and passion for music. In addition to studies with our expert faculty, students are provided with opportunities to play for and observe world-renowned guest artists such as our Grammy award-winning artist in residence Bill Laurance.

At Morley College, we strongly believe in the importance of offering performing opportunities to our students and we regularly organise concerts for our ensembles. Recent appearances include London jazz venues such as the Vortex, the Hideaway and Iklectik.
