Open Evening: Waterloo Centre

Our open evening on Thursday 8 February 2024 is a great opportunity to find out more about our Waterloo Centre for Adult Education.

From 100s of courses in the visual arts, music, voice and song, to performance and all types of dances to creative writing, science, fitness and wellbeing to a great choice of languages like European, Asian and African ones.

We also offer maths, English and science, up to GCSE and Access to HE and higher education courses including top-up degrees in fashion, music and visual arts.

Our centre is based in vibrant Waterloo, a ten-minute walk from Waterloo station and three minutes from Lambeth North underground station.

5:00 – 7:00pmPersonalised Poetry: writing with a love theme – create your own poetry.
If you’re not sure whether a writing class (in poetry or creative writing) is suitable for you, why not come along to a taster during our open evening.  With Valentine’s a week away, the theme will be love poetry. With some great love poems for inspiration, Becky will give you opportunities to create your own self-styled love poems, celebrating love in all its forms.

Becky Varley-Winter teaches poetry at Morley.  Her latest poetry collection, Dangerous Enough, is published by Salt  (https://www.saltpublishing.com/products/dangerous-enough-9781784632960). Her poems have won the T. R. Henn and Brewer Hall Prizes, and been longlisted in the National Poetry Competition; she has a PhD in English literature from Cambridge University. 
5:00 – 7:00pmFashion: an opportunity to see our open studio for students in Levels 3 through 6. You will have have a chance to see the type ow work you may take part of on the accredited courses. Our staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
