Whether you wish to discover a new hobby, or progress in your career, you’ll enjoy studying textiles in our well-equipped studios in Waterloo and Chelsea.

Our team of tutors are professional practitioners and designers who will guide you to develop traditional skills as well as explore contemporary digital design.

Our textiles students regularly showcase their work in our exhibition spaces and Morley Gallery. Students also participate in collaborative projects with partners including the Garden Museum and South London Botanical Institute.

Free qualifications for 16 to18 year olds

Develop your skills in designing and working with textiles while preparing for higher education or a career in the creative industries. You’ll learn about the properties of materials, key design skills and developing sustainable textiles practices. Our expert tutors will guide you through developing a portfolio to further your journey.

Specialist textiles short courses for adults

Explore techniques ranging from upholstery to crochet and tapestry to basket-weaving in our series of specialist short courses. Whether you want to learn about the properties of various textiles, explore sustainable dyeing techniques or learn to knit, our courses cater to every level.

Higher education

For those considering going to university or wishing to immerse themselves in a rich year of focused study, we offer a part-time Textiles Foundation course. During the course, students are encouraged to explore a creative and developmental textile practice. The course is run with Widening Participation partner Chelsea College of Art and Design.
