The UAL Level 2 Diploma in Fashion Business and Retail is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the dynamic world of luxury retail. Upon successful completion of the course, students gain a UAL Level 2 Diploma in Fashion Business and Retail.

The class format and activities are designed to provide students with a comprehensive and practical education. The class format typically includes lectures, seminars, workshops, guest speakers, group projects, field trips, and case studies, allowing for a blend of theory and hands-on learning. Various class activities include role plays, market research, mock store design, brand analysis, marketing campaigns, debates, online simulations, group presentations, and industry reports, giving students opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios. These activities aim to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and networking, preparing students for successful careers in the luxury retail industry.
Students wishing to apply for the Level 2 Diploma in Fashion Business and Retail should have a minimum of: - a UAL or equivalent Level 1 qualification or - three GCSEs at grade D or grade 3 or above or - an equivalent Level 1 functional skills qualification in English and Maths. International students are expected to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English with a recommended minimum IELTS (or equivalent) score of 5.0.
This course is free for 16-18 year olds and some 19+ learners depending on their financial situation. Prospective students should exhibit a genuine interest in luxury fashion and its related disciplines, along with a positive mindset characterised by enthusiasm and dedication to their studies. They should display a strong desire to acquire new knowledge and a willingness to embrace challenging educational experiences. The course will be held 2 days per week in college and additional independent learning is expected outside of college learning for successful course completion.
