What you will learn

Work with theatre maker and Artistic Director of Page One Theatre, Chloe Stephens, to explore the discipline of making work for an early years audience. The course is run in collaboration with leading theatre for children Polka Theatre. Drawing on Michael Chekhov's imaginative approach to actor training and theatre making, this six week course will explore ways to engage with an early years audience in an immediate and genuine way. You will discover some of the techniques Chloe uses in her own work when devising visual theatre for early years and be given the chance to begin to develop your own work. A member of the Polka Theatre team will attend one session for a QandA and the short pieces of student work will be shared with an early years audience in the Nest at Polka Theatre during the final session of the course. You will have the chance to meet other theatre makers interested in making work for young audiences, be guided and supported in starting to develop your own piece of work and make connections with Polka Theatre staff.
