In this 5-week session, you'll develop essential skills in mark-making, printmaking, and bookbinding while exploring narrative and sequence inspired by personal landscapes. Drawing from both Eastern and Western techniques, we'll delve into creative ways to illustrate and archive our favourite landscapes. You'll use various drawing and printmaking techniques to create images for two artist's books—a concertina/zig-zag book and a case-bound book. This course aims to kickstart your journey in creating artists' books, focusing on generating and incorporating content into thoughtful designs.
There will be demonstration, group discussion, one to one tuition and practical project work. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
No previous knowledge of bookbinding is required. This class is a great introduction to making books
