What you will learn

On this course, you will work with an experienced Morley tutor and puppetry specialist alongside a guest professional from Little Angel Theatre. Over two sessions, unpack and explore what you may encounter in a puppetry based audition for theatre. Many theatre companies now use puppetry or object led physical/visual theatre in creating work, and puppetry skills are becoming more widely asked of from performers. Similarly, with puppetry holding a unique place on stage, puppeteers are being seen for auditions more and more. This short course will give you a taster of the kind of exercises, material, tasks and atmosphere of a working audition, in a friendly, supportive and informative environment. Working with objects, materials and also guest puppets, provided by the Little Angel Theatre and two industry professional tutors. We aim to cover the possibilities of “traditional” prepared audition practice, and to prepare you for the unknown possibilities that can happen once you turn up for an audition.
