About Morley College

Established in 1889, and with our roots stretching back even further, Morley College London is one of the country's oldest and largest specialist providers of adult education. We provide long-term, sustainable and affordable programmes of lifelong learning across three centres – North Kensington, Chelsea and Waterloo – including 16-19 provision at North Kensington and Chelsea.

As one of only nine Specialist Designated Institutions (SDIs) in the UK, we serve more than 17,000 students through a coherent, student-centred course offer, underpinned by our mission to empower individuals and strengthen communities through education in Arts, Culture and Applied Sciences. Whether studying for personal development and well-being, to gain essential skills (English, Maths, IT), to access higher education, or for career development or change, our vision is for ambitions to be inspired and achieved through learning.

Morley College London aims to have a workforce that is as reflective of the diverse population that it serves. The College particularly encourages applications from ethnic minorities and disabled people who are currently under-represented within the College at this level.

As well as joining a creative, innovative leading London College focused on social justice and providing excellent teaching and learning opportunities for all, there are plenty of other rewards for working at Morley College London:

 About the role

We are looking for an experienced lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills maths classes at Morley College’s Chelsea and North Kensington Centres from September 2024. The role includes teaching on 16-18 study programmes and adult daytime and evening classes. You will be a committed and enthusiastic teacher who strives to inspire students to enjoy maths and to find opportunities to explore numeracy skills in everyday contexts. The role would suit someone with experience of improving outcomes for adult learners from a wide range of backgrounds.

The successful candidate should have experience of teaching maths to level 2, with a relevant teaching qualification and DBS. Tutors are strongly encouraged to come up with ideas for enrichment activities that promote numeracy and digital skills and to work across curriculum areas to enhance student experience. The successful candidate will teach in either centre on different days, based on timetabling needs but will not usually be required to travel between centres in the same day.

Candidates must be willing to teach in the evening, if required.
