Viola studied Fine Art at Tsinghua University in Beijing, specialising in Oil painting. She then pursued studies in animation and illustration at Kingston University and the Cambridge School of Art.
She currently teaches at the Printmaking and Bookbinding Department at Morley’s Waterloo Centre for Adult Education.
As an award-winning children’s book author and illustrator, her work is published globally. She is also an experienced teacher and mentor in the field of children’s book publishing.
Viola grew up in a family of printers, and her illustration work has always been influenced by her printmaking practice. Recently, she graduated from the scholarship program – Drawing Year at the Royal Drawing School, where she expanded her printmaking practice into wider visual art contests. Her work has been exhibited at the RA Summer Show, Woolwich Contemporary Fair, and the Royal Collection.
