Justine was a former director of the Institute of Ideas Debating Matters sixth form debating competition, encouraging students across the UK and internationally to think about and understand the world around them through debate and exploring ideas. After 12 years with Debating Matters she moved to Civitas Schools to take up the role of director, ensuring the charitable project continues to deliver outstanding supplementary education to primary school children struggling in English and maths, helping alleviate educational disadvantage from an early stage.
Coming to education by way of a variety of different roles and fields, she believes in Morley’s ethos of the importance of education and its transformative ability, at all stages of life – something she put into practice by completing a degree in Classical Studies at Birkbeck College, University of London, as a mature student.
