Fenella Juanita Barker has worked as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer since 1990, touring to USA, Canada and throughout UK and Europe, working in theatre, opera, cabaret, cruises, TV, video and film. In London she has performed in numerous venues including Royal Opera House, Barbican, ICA, Wembley, Earl’s Court and Olympia.

Companies include National Character Dance Company, Romanska Folk Ballet, Springs Dance Company, MAS Dance, Cooperative Dance Theatre, Encantada, Baile Ricarda, Flamenco Reyes and teaching in London includes Morley College London (since 1997), London Metropolitan University, English National Ballet School, City & Islington College, Pineapple Dance Studios and Dance Attic Studios.

Fenella is currently performing with Flamenco y Danza, Grupo Flamenco de Londres and also as a freelance solo artist, with recent work including a performing residency in London along with theatre performances as far away as Spain and Malta.

Qualifications / Awards: MA Performing Arts, BA Hons Dance with Spanish, SDS IdB2 (Cat A – Spanish Dance Society: Flamenco, Classical & Regional Spanish Dance), RSL Level 4 Diploma in Dance Teaching, RAD (RTS) – Royal Academy of Dance Registered Teacher Status, AIDTA (Ballet), Silver Swans ® Licensee, Certified Teacher of PBT ®, Recipient of Life Membership to International Dance Teachers’ Association (2024), Recipient of Spanish Dance Society’s 2016 Presidents’ Award and Spanish Dance Society’s 2009 Teachers’ Bursary, Full Member of British Equity.
