I have been a potter and a teacher for many years and I love playing with the material.
Ceramics brought me to Morley. My current work is hand built and fired in a pit in my garden.
The inspiration behind them is multiple: the forms are very traditional, based on gourds, but also on the human form, they have a belly and a neck, sometimes, a foot and a lip too.
Much history is understood through finding ancient ceramic pieces, the surfaces I’m creating give an impression of having been found on an archaeological dig.
