Morley to celebrate 100 years at Waterloo

Join us on the evening of Tuesday 26 March to celebrate 100 years of Morley at 61 Westminster Bridge Road, from 5-8pm.

It will be a journey through the rich history, the present and the future possibilities of the Waterloo Centre for Adult Education.

Waterloo 100 is a special event designed for Friends of Morley, stakeholders, students and colleagues. It takes place in 2024: a century on from Morley first taking up residence at the 61 Westminster Bridge Road site.

Waterloo 100 will involve guided tours that will showcase the Waterloo Centre while diving into its rich history.

This will be a unique opportunity to view live classes, exhibitions, re-enactments, Morley Radio and more.

The tours will walk guests through the iconic parts of Morley’s Waterloo Centre, including the Emma Cons Hall, Morley Gallery, the Sculpture Garden, the Tower Rooms, and the Johnnie Harris Theatre.

Tours will conclude with food and beverages in the Refectory, where there will be a display of the future plans for Waterloo.

Bushra Iqbal, Centre Principal at Waterloo, said: “This will be a night to remember at the college, and the celebration of a major Morley milestone here in SE1. Do join us if you can.”

Save the date, and stay tuned for more information to come soon!
