Morley marks 6th anniversary of Grenfell Tower fire

Staff and students at Morley College London are today remembering those who lost their lives and the countless members of our community whose lives have been forever changed by the events of 14 June 2017.

At Morley College London today we are:

  • illuminating our North Kensington Centre building in Grenfell green
  • observing a two-minute silence throughout all teaching centres at midday
  • bringing staff together in the Morley Heart Gardens, a space at our North Kensington Centre for Skills for remembrance and reflection
  • replacing our standard digital display screen content for students with poetry extracts from local community members throughout the day

Craig Hanlon-Smith, Centre Principal at Morley’s North Kensington Centre for Skills, said: “Today we commemorate those lives lost and forever changed by the terrible tragedy at Grenfell Tower. In doing so, we also restate our commitment to improving the lives of members of our local community through education and to continuing to work closely with the community here in North Kensington to do that.”
