Morley launches Master of Arts, Creative Practice

Morley College London is excited to introduce a brand-new MA in Creative Practice. The new MA is a flexible, interdisciplinary course that supports artists, designers, makers and musicians to deepen their practice, connect with others, and develop the tools needed for a sustainable creative career.

It is expertly designed for learners working in ceramics, fashion, textiles, fine art, millinery, music and sound, or photography – offering a high quality postgraduate programme which provides the space, guidance and challenge to extend students’ creative journeys.

A creative course designed around the individual

This studio-based MA is designed to support students’ creative development within a professionally focused and inclusive environment. It provides the opportunity to:

  • Expand craft skills in your chosen discipline
  • Explore your practice through research, reflection and experimentation
  • Develop your critical, contextual and conceptual understanding
  • Gain insight into the professional and social impact of creative work

The course brings together creative thinking and real-world application. It explores how individual practice can lead to meaningful work in the creative industries.

James Ward, Vice Principal for Higher Education at Morley College London said:

Our flexible MA courses are delivered by experienced educators who are also active professionals in their fields, ensuring a balance of academic insight and real-world relevance. With small class sizes, personalised learning, and a supportive, hands-on environment, Morley is a place where creativity can thrive. Our well-equipped centres foster lifelong learning and provide a strong foundation for progressing into the UK’s leading creative industries.”

Flexible study: full-time or part-time

The MA Creative Practice is delivered over three academic semesters and can be studied full-time (2–3 days per week) or part-time (1–1.5 days per week)—making it ideal to balace study with other commitments such as part-time work or internships.

Throughout the course, students develop a learning agreement and maintain a reflective journal to support their progress,  and work towards a final Master’s research proposal and project.
