What you will learn

Learn to how to use shape, pattern and screen print to generate rhythm and flow. Find fresh perspectives on how shape can inform pattern and how pattern is fundamental to human civilisations. Explore personal taste for pattern, using scale and a limited colour palette. This two day course is designed to provide an insight in to the Textiles Foundation, Level 3 course. This course is also ideal for those looking to explore new ways of working and expand their practice.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explore shape and pattern to develop design skills
  • Learn how to use scale to enhance designs
  • Understand the basics of screen printing
  • Use simple colour play to build your understanding of design development

    The tutor will demonstrate techniques and bring inspirational samples, You will be given time to practise these techniques with constructive feedback to develop your own projects. Group discussions and one to one support will enable you to progress.
