Suitable for all levels. A two session course exploring music theory through tap dance. From the basics of counting the beats in the bar, finding the ‘1’ and staying in time to beat divisions and rhythm notation. We will be lifting music from the page to our feet in this upbeat movement class

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Start to differentiate sections of music and hear where bars start & end.
- Count along with different pieces of music.
- Hear and recognise rhythms in different music genres.
- Tap-dance different beat divisions and rhythms.
- Begin to visualise bars, beats and divisions through drawings and diagrams.

What you need to know before you enrol
A good level of fitness is required to be able to do the practical work. However adjustments will be made to the movements to meet particular physical or learning needs. Photography and film recording of class activities may be used in order to aid learning. These images may also be used for publicity or marketing materials produced by Morley College, both online and in print. You will have the opportunity to either confirm or decline consent to being filmed or photographed.
