What you will learn

This introductory course provides those with an interest in art and design with the opportunity to explore materials, methods and processes, and to begin to develop practical skills within an art context. It also provides students with an opportunity to test their commitment and interest in the subject. It provides an opportunity to explore and develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required for progression within art and design education. The course is structured around 2D and 3D fine art processes - printmaking, sculpture, painting, drawing and mixed media. You will be encouraged to explore and experiment with approaches, materials and ideas, document your work in a blog, use a sketchbook, respond to project briefs, develop own ideas and build a portfolio of work for application to Level 3 UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, or other advanced courses. Entry to the course is by application with portfolio.
