What you will learn

Learn how to use your digital SLR camera and improve your photographic skills. The course will cover the basics of photography in terms of shutter speed, aperture and ISO, as well as composition, lenses and white balance. The aim is to get you familiar with your camera’s functions, while photographing different situations and subjects. This course will put you in control of your camera and open up new horizons for you. The course tutor will set you a task to complete between sessions, so as to practice the learnt skills. At the end of the course you will be able to take photographs without relying on the ‘auto’ mode! Students will need to bring their own DSLR or mirrorless camera allowing access to manual controls.

    This is a hands-on course and will be delivered in Chelsea Centre. You will learn actively and will practice the demonstrated skills during the sessions with continuous support by the tutor.

    Entry requirements

    The course is suitable for complete beginners, or those who have been using Auto mode and wish to understand their camera’s manual mode
