What you will learn
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Draw using: line, mass, mark making, brush and tone, in a variety of speeds and mixing media
- Work with greater awareness of drawing and painting the form
- Paint with a limited palette
- Mix colour to create space
- Develop confidence and an individual vision without feeling daunted by technique
Cost
Class format and activities
Beginners will complete a 6 week introductory course in drawing before painting. Techniques will include; contour with pencil, weight & modelling with charcoal, gesture drawing with charcoal & pencil, and weight & modelling with pen and brush. Students new to painting will work with a limited palette focusing on the form. Returning students can pursue personal projects working in their chosen medium and exploring new techniques in painting & drawing
Entry requirements
Energy and enthusiasm and an interest in the human figure. Some drawing and or painting experience is helpful (e.g. Drawing for beginners or Painting for beginners).

You will need to provide your own materials : Charcoal, soft pencils, erasers, paints and pastels etc Sketchbook A5 or A4. Advice on materials will be given in the first session.
