What you will learn

In this course, you will develop Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing skills. Each term includes all four skills but focuses on a specific skill for the exam taken in that term. When you pass each unit, you will receive a certificate for that particular unit.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Learn how to introduce yourself and ask questions
  • Work towards expressing own ideas when speaking

Class format and activities

You will work in pairs or small groups or individually. You will also have one-to-one discussions with your tutor to talk about your progress. You will experience a wide and varied range of activities such as listening to audios, role play, reading aloud, writing activities, quizzes, word searches and other games. You will also use digital learning technologies to help you learn. You will have an individual learning plan with targets that are personal to you.

Entry requirements

You will take an initial assessment, which will determine your current level of English. You may join this course, if your assessed level is judged to be at Beginner level

What you need to know before you enrol

Course Fees: Variable rates are available. You may be able to do the course for FREE depending on your personal circumstances. Guided Learning Hours: 72 HClass time : 6 hours per week Independent study: A minimum of 4 hours per week, including regular practice of what you learn in class and completing any homework. Attendance and Punctuality: Making good progress on the course will depend on regular attendance and punctuality. A minimum of 90% attendance is required from students at Morley College

What you need

You will need writing materials (a pen, some lined paper) and a file to keep your work in. You may also need to buy a course book
