What you will learn

This course will give you the skills to plan projects and develop your sculpture studio practice. Alongside being able to make your work with the full use of the facilities at Pelham Hall sculpture studio, brief seminars will be given on related topics. Discussions and sharing best practice will help you to identify a place for your work in contemporary art practice. Basic materials included. Materials charged for over allocated materials fee.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Expand sculpture making skills appropriate to your work.
  • Expand your awareness of sculpture materials and processes (metal, clay, wood, mould-making, stone and plaster)
  • Discuss your art practice
  • Explore directions in which to develop your art practice
  • Develop critical decision making skills in relation to your own work and as a member of the class/group
  • Encourage good workshop practice including Health and Safety

This course takes place at Pelham Hall sculpture studio 5 min walk from the Main College on Lambeth Walk. Please check the website for directions.

Sketchbook, drawing materials, overalls/work clothes and strong shoes or boots.
