Explore scissor and knife-cutting techniques to make finished decorative images, hand-made cards or to use as design developments for screen print, block print or embroidery. Reference European and far Eastern folk traditions and contemporary makers, to produce a unique one-off image or a series of repeats and multiples.

- Use colour, tone and simple counter-change and overlays to achieve a range of interesting and effective designs

Class format and activities
Day 1 we will explore techniques and approaches; how to select and express design elements, and decide what kind of outcomes you would like to make. Day 2 we will make a finished design. Group and individual demonstrations, and informal discussions in a relaxed and friendly workshop will help everyone progress skills and confidence.

What you need to know before you enrol
The class is situated on the second floor of the Nancy Seear Building. There is partial disabled access via a stair lift. Please contact ALS on: 0207 450 1972 before enrolling if you have any mobility support needs.
What you need
Please bring at least one image you would like to work from, a pair of sharp pointed scissors and a craft knife. All other tools and materials provided.
