What you will learn

Get in depth with your electronic music production! Learn how to use complex, evolving synthesis using a variety of synthesis methods including: Subtractive, FM and Wave Table Synthesis. Take existing sounds and transform them for use in your music with creative applications of sampling and effects processing. Completion of Level 2 or intermediate experience required.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Use synthesis to an advanced level using complex synthesis methods like hard sync, frequency modulation and morphing wavetables
  • Flip samples for use in your music, transforming them with sampling techniques to create new and unique sounds
  • Create multi-layered dance music with complex and evolving sounds and structures
  • Use advanced techniques: sidechain compression, MIDI effects, vocal and FX processing
  • Incorporate production techniques used by producers you admire

    Demonstrations + explanations from Tutor Practical Class exercises, observed by tutor Individual exercises & tasks (each learner will have a music workstation each)

    Entry requirements

    Completion of Electronic Music Producer 2, Logic Pro Intermediate, or equivalent experience. Access outside of class to Logic Pro, Ableton Live or other sequencing software is recommended. A strong interest in music. A basic understanding of how music is constructed. Basic computer skills, file management etc

    Due to the nature of the instruments/content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson
