What you will learn

This is a one-day short course led in partnership with Corali Dance Company that provides an introductory framework to explore and gain skills in Corali’s methodologies. We will delve into the heart of our inclusive practice and showcase the leadership skills of our Corali Dancers who are at the heart of our work. Established in 1989, Corali is a leader in dance created by artists with a learning disability that has developed a methodology which places its dancers at the centre of its artistic process. The company explores the relationship between dance and other art forms, between participatory and professional practice and between performers with and without a learning disability. The course will open up Corali’s methodologies to allow participants to experience the company’s structures and tasks in practice in order to develop their own understanding of integrated and inclusive dance and performance. The course also aims to give insight into how a multi arts approach can support accessibility and inform the experience of improvisation. The Course will be co-led by Corali dancers and will provide a safe space from which to build the groups own process led experience.
