This course is a creative exploration of collagraph printmaking and sustainable bookbinding practices, including single-sewn pamphlet and section-sewn perfect binding. We will focus on environmentally conscious materials and methods while developing printmaking and binding skills. This course is suitable for beginners and students with some previous experience.
There will be demonstration, group discussion, one to one tuition and practical project work. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
No previous knowledge of bookbinding is required. This class is a great introduction to making books.
Health and Safety information will be given at the start of the course and in subsequent lessons wherever necessary. The studio is accessible via a lift and there is an adjustable height desk available.
Pencil, eraser, notebook for taking notes. We will discuss in the first session if there are any other tools and materials you may want to buy.
