The top-up degree programme is designed for people who have successfully completed an HND or Foundation degree in a relevant subject and now wish to convert their existing qualification into a full BA honours qualification in the heart of London. Close to important museums and galleries, this dynamic and thought provoking course is taught by a team of dedicated lecturers with a broad range of fine art and creative industry experience and expertise. The programme will help you develop your creative voice, within the context of your practice as an emerging professional artist. Supporting you through a broad range of hands-on experiences and critical investigation. The course provides excellent quality of higher education in Fine Art; particularly the high level of lecturer contact and personalised individual support. Our fine art studios are also a much sought-after resource, encouraging deep research and collaboration. We offer an intellectually stretching yet supportive environment which encourages the diverse and multidisciplinary approaches to fine art production. We also encourage and seek out people from the widest range of backgrounds and cultures to apply and be involved in the evolving discussion of what art can be in contemporary society. The course provides many opportunities that promote new forms of experimentation, collaboration and enjoyment. At the Chelsea Centre for Creative Industries, you will form part of a dynamic and well established community of like-minded people and artists working in varied fields and media. On successful completion of this course you will achieve a Fine Art BA (hons) accredited by Ravensbourne University.
On successful completion of the course, you will achieve the following qualification: BA (Hons) in Fine Art (Top Up) - Morley College London [RAVENSBOURNE]
Tutorials (Individual & Group), Group Critiques, Seminars, Lectures, Practical Workshops and Study Visits.
This course is equivalent to the 3rd year of a university degree. Applicants are expected to have successfully completed an HND or Foundation Degree in Art & Design (or related discipline) and have a strong interest in contemporary art. You also need good levels of writing skills in English and basic computer skills.
You will need to carry out independent research in the studio, at home and visiting galleries; Some written work will need to be produced outside of course hours.
You will need to buy your own materials and equipment. Further information will be given at the start of the course.
