Improve your accordion technique and musicianship through playing solo and ensemble music, ranging from classics and standards, to folk, musette and tango. Suitable for players with at least 2 years' experience. Accordion students are encouraged to try out for Morley Accordion Orchestra.
You will learn by example from the tutor, through practical playing both individually and in a group and from peer support. You will need to follow and contribute to discussions in English. Music Study can include the use of digital resources such as listening to recordings, watching videos online, using appropriate mobile applications and following Moodle -Morley's virtual learning environment- to enhance your learning inside and outside the classroom. Music study also offers a range of benefits including being an enjoyable way to enhance wellbeing. Music practice at Morley can also serve to enhance skills relevant for employment including developing creativity, developing high-concentration levels, building self-confidence, working to deadlines, being able to control nerves and working as part of a team.
This course is for those who have completed Accordion Level 2 or have equivalent experience. Contact the tutor for advice before enrolling. You will need your own accordion - ideally with a minimum of 72 bass.
In order to achieve the most from the course, you must be willing to practise between sessions.

You may also want to join the Morley Accordion Orchestra, Intermediate Accordion Club or one of Morley College's other Folk Clubs.
