This course is aimed at drummers with a least 3 years of experience. It will keep exploring a range of different drumming styles including Afro-Caribbean rhythms. It will further develop and apply the techniques, rudiments and concepts studied in the previous levels and will aim at improving your timekeeping and performance skills. This course requires tutor approval and therefore you are unable to enrol for it online. Follow verbal instructions and practical demonstrations, work and practise as part of the group and individually and Perform in front of the class. Your input and participation in discussions and Q&A sessions is very important. In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular and detailed feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
Participants are required to have attended Levels 1 and 2 or: Be able to confidently play crotchets, quavers, triplets and semiquavers based grooves. Be familiar with Pop, Rock, Funk, Shuffle, and Jazz drumming styles. Be able to read, interpret and perform basic drum charts
A regular practice routine is essential to keep up with the course and get the most out of it. Due to the nature of the instrument/contents of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
