- Understand and practice basic stone and wood carving techniques
- How to make a small design and transfer ideas into a carving block
- Understand basic safety with tools and how to maintain them
- Create a small carvings in stone and /or wood

Class format and activities
Demonstration, practical work and discussion, with one to one guidance. Beginners will be given practical guidance and health and safety information. You will develop your carving techniques. We will be looking at visual examples of other stone & wood sculptors' work.

No. This course is suitable for beginners, on going stone & wood carving students and sculpture students who wish to learn new skills.

None - some lifting, but help is always available.

Pencil and note book /sketch book is useful Please ensure you wear stout closed in shoes or boots and apron
