Morley students centre stage: Awards ceremonies celebrate students’ talent and determination
…
The Lambeth Tour Guides Class of 2023-24 celebrated their graduation in style at Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton.
After a year that included 45 learning sessions, 6 training walks, two exams and a big project, the new tour guides were awarded their certificates and badges. Mayor John Paul Ennis and Peter Brown, Chair of the Lambeth Tour Guide Association, handed out the awards in front of a supportive group of friends, family and guests.
The tour guide course at Morley covers a lot of ground covering architecture, art and social history. It geographically spans from Archbishop’s Park in the North to Westow Hill in the South as well as covering Morley College London’s Waterloo Building which is in Lambeth.
Course Director Sarah-Jane Miller shared her excitement: “We are thrilled to welcome our latest students to the Lambeth Tour Guides Association. Some of them are already leading tours in Lambeth and beyond! We congratulate this year’s students on their hard work learning and presenting tours around Brixton, Vauxhall, Kennington, Herne Hill, and Streatham.”
