To celebrate all things Portuguese (Brazilian and Portuguese), as our Language of the Month, our Portuguese language tutors suggest the best places to go around London for the sound, dance and taste of Brazil and Portugal.
These are best places to experience Portuguese and Brazilian culture in London, many with reasonably priced and delicious dish, dance and environment.

A taste of Brazil

Guanabara

Parker Street, Corner of Drury Lane , WC2B 5PW London
Guanabara is located  in the Holborn Area and is a mixture of restaurant, bar and club, which presents the best of Brazilian music and dance, which includes live music, bands, capoeira performances and presentations of London’s samba schools.
You can eat traditional Brazilian snacks (cassava, etc.) and we cannot forget the Brazilian cocktail called caipirinha.

Floripa

91-93 Great Eastern St, EC2A 3HZ London
Floripa attempts to recreate the culture of its namesake in Brazil. This restaurant has very colourful food and cocktails, the music is lively and it has a great atmosphere with really helpful and friendly staff.

Barraco

10 Kings Gate Place, Kilburn, NW6 4TA, London
Barraco is the equivalent to Brazilians as is the pub to the English. It brings the flavour of the boteco bar in Brazil, where the Brazilians go to drink, eat and dance.

Tia Maria Restaurant & Music Bar

126 South Lambeth Road, Vauxhall, SW8 1RB London
Tia Maria started out as a café in South Lambeth Road. However owing to its popularity it re-launched as a restaurant and music bar.

Made in Brasil – Restaurant & Cocktail Bar

4848 Chalk Farm Road, Camden Town, NW1 8AJ London
Made in Brasil brings the best of Brazilian and Latin culture, food, drink and music to London. The place has a vibrant interior décor and captures the spirit of a Brazilian beach party.

Portuguese vibes

Estrela: Bar & Restaurant

111 S Lambeth Rd, SW8 1UZ London
I would recommend you order the Portuguese seafood feijoada and bacalhau (salted cod) dishes.

Caravela

39 Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge, SW3 1NX London
Caravela offers an authentic Portuguese atmosphere and traditional Portuguese cuisine. The décor is inspired by a nautical theme and Lisbon style. Your entertainment is provided in the form of live performances of Fado music.

Brazilian Culture

Canning House

This is the home of a non-political and non-profit organization,  called the Hispanic and Luso Brazilian Council. The council was established in 1943 to stimulate understanding between Britain, Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
