Become qualified in British Sign Language

We offer a Level 1 Award in British Sign Language, a nationally-recognised qualification accredited by Signature. By obtaining this qualification, you will demonstrate that you are able to communicate in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of everyday topics. The Level 1 Award in British Sign Language can lead to higher-level Signature qualifications.

If you are learning British Sign Language for the first time, you may wish to come to one of our introductory courses before joining the Level 1 Award in British Sign Language course which will run again from September.

Language of the Month

All are welcome at our popular Language of the Month events. Six times a year, we showcase one of the languages taught at Morley through a range of events. The programme will typically include:

  • Try out a new language in a 45-minute taster lesson.
  • Experience the culture of the countries where the language is spoken. Previous activities include Japanese origami, Spanish flamenco dancing, Chinese paper-cutting and German Christmas carols.
  • Watch a modern film classic at our Language of the Month Film Evening. All films are subtitled in English.

All Language of the Month events are free to participants. There is no need to enrol beforehand.
