Andrew Williamson

Andrew was born and brought up three miles from Oxford. Having worked for three years, he went to the University of Kent (1980-83 BA English). He spent 30 years in public service (civil service and local government) including 25 years in Hackney Council (administration, data base support and training in social services 1984-2011). Andrew took unpaid leave (1994-95) and gained a PGCE (FE) from Greenwich University. Following redundancy/retirement in 2011 he attended Tottenham FE College (Certificate in Employment Law) and then University of Keele (2012-2014 Masters in Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management). During his time in Hackney, he was an active trade unionist in various roles including Branch Chair and successfully represented members at Employment Tribunal. He has attended four colleges of further education including Morley and completed his teaching practice at Hammersmith. He has been a member of Morley’s student Council since 2017 (less one year).
