Morley Festival Design Competition winner announced
Many thanks to everyone who entered our Morley Festival Design competition last month - it was wonderful to see the creativity and design skills of our students!
We are delighted to announce that the winner of the competition is Ian Macfarlane, who studied French and Public Speaking with us. Ian is a freelance graphic designer who specialises in brand identity and print, book, editorial, retail and TV design. He has previously had work selected for the D&AD awards, Creative Review Annual, and International Society of Typographic Designers, and has also acted as a judge for the D&AD awards.
Commenting on Ian’s design, Vice Principal Nick Rampley said, “Ian is a well-established graphic designer so we were delighted that someone of his calibre was attracted to our competition. Though the overall standard of entries was very high, we felt that his design best captured the essence of the Morley Festival’s ‘Planets’ theme, and were very impressed with the professional finish he gave to his entry.”

The Morley Festival will run from late June until mid-July 2018 and feature a variety of special events and performances, including a special piano arrangement of Gustav Holst’s The Planets.
