5 Reasons to Enrol on an AAT Advanced Diploma
This year we’re launching our new AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, a Level 3 course designed to give you a thorough grounding in all things related to accountancy. But did you know that it’s also a great choice if you want to build a career in a range of other business roles? Here are a few reasons why it could be the right course for you:
1. It’s not just for accountants
If you want a career in credit control, payroll supervision, or tax auditing, or if you want to set up and run your own small business, the skills you’ll learn on the AAT Advanced Diploma are invaluable. You’ll master a number of complex financial processes beyond just bookkeeping, including costings, processing VAT returns, issues and processes surrounding both direct and indirect tax, and professional ethics in finance. It’s also a great choice if you want to retrain after being out of work for a while, or if you want to change careers.
2. We have flexible study options
We offer two modes of study for the AAT Advanced Diploma – Daytime or Evenings and Weekends – so you can choose to study at a time that fits in best with your lifestyle. You can enrol now for our next Evenings and Weekends course, which starts on 31 October, or wait for our next Daytime course, which starts in January 2018.
3. You could get funding for your study
The AAT Advanced Diploma is an eligible course for the Advanced Learner Loan, a government-backed loan that can be used to cover the costs of studying at Level 3 or higher. The loan is not means tested and does not require a credit check, and doesn’t become repayable until after you complete your course and start earning over £21,000 per year. To find out more about the loan, watch our video below:
4. You’ll benefit from AAT student membership
Your course fees are inclusive of your AAT student membership fee, which is essential to study on an AAT course and take AAT exams. But the membership gives you much more than that – it also grants you access to a fantastic range of learning resources through the AAT’s extensive branch network, including network meetings, technical training, information on career development, and a quarterly journal.
5. You’ll have plenty of options once you complete the course
AAT qualifications are globally recognised and valued by both leading employers and educational institutions, so whatever your goals, the Advanced Diploma is an excellent first step. You can look for employment and know that your CV will stand out in the jobs market, or you can progress to higher level study, either on the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting, or on a related university degree. You could even start your own business with the benefit of a thorough understanding of how to manage your finances, balance your accounts and process your taxes.
