MP David Lammy leads high profile “Save Adult learning” campaign

Last Thursday, Rt. Hon David Lammy MP for Tottenham visited Morley College London to promote the “Save our Adult Education” campaign (FE week) targeted to bring back night schools and increase funding for adult learning.

As a big supporter of our College, David Lammy said “Morley is a jewel in the crown of learning in London, with over 125 years of experience in adult education. It’s an institution with a great history that’s completely relevant for today.  Adult education enables people to thrive in life and in work. It’s vital now and in the future.”

On the day, David Lammy met with Access to Higher Education students and had the opportunity to exchange ideas and share experiences. Dr. Andrew Gower, Principal of Morley College London, hosted the visit and remarked “It’s always a pleasure to welcome David Lammy to Morley.  He’s a passionate advocate of lifelong learning and we celebrate his support. Morley College London enables people of all ages to achieve their ambition – and the Access to Higher Education students David met today are following their dream to become a scientist or engineer.”

Morley was delighted to receive David and regards him as a champion of adult education.

In line with our mission to empower individuals and strengthen communities through adult education in Arts, Culture and Applied Sciences, Morley College London invites prospective students to visit us.

Join us on our Access HE Open Day this Thursday, 9th March from 15:00 to 18:30 at Emma Cons Hall, Morley College London, 61 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7HT.
