Morley Radio Officially Launches at Westminster Bridge Road
Visitors to the new foyer space at Westminster Bridge Road will already be well aware of our new radio studio facility, which is also fully visible at street level in the space were our old entryway used to be. We have now formally launched Morley Radio, our very own radio station that will provide our students with a specialist learning experience in an industry-standard facility, and an opportunity for the local community to find out what’s happening at Morley and communicate with us about the things that matter to them.
A special launch event was held in the new foyer, and it also marked two other launches by the Music Technology team – the first album by the newly-formed TERM Records, featuring original music by Morley students and including “I Lived on Planet You”, the winning piece from last year’s Sampling Holst competition; and this year’s Engine Room sound art competition, which will hold its finale exhibition in IKLECTIK in October.
Programmes currently running on Morley Radio include Re:Cycling, discussing the world of cycling around London, and Views from the ‘Loo, hosted by Alex and Harrie from We Are Waterloo. The station broadcasts 24/7, with the schedule of programmes kicking off every day from 7am.
