Dates for Your Diary

We have lots of exciting events coming up – spread the word and join us for them! Events Officer Steph Rampley runs down some of the core dates in the next couple of months:

Costume design and making VFC090C 1

Coming up next week is Morley Taster Week (19–24 May), when we’ll be giving visitors the opportunity to sample some of our courses before they enrol! Tasters are an hour long each and cost just £5 each. For more information or to register, visit our events page.

Then on 27 March, you can pay the Stockwell Centre a visit for our open day to get a taste of the courses we offer from our newest teaching centre. We’ll have workshops and tasters running throughout the day, as well as enrolment help, general advice and guidance, and more! Find out more or register online.

Speaking of open days, our next Higher Education and Advanced Learning open evening will be on 19 April, from 5:00–6:30pm. Full information on our Access, Advanced and HND courses will be available from our tutors, as well as tours of the facilities – a great opportunity for anyone looking to take their study further. Register your place online!

Penny Lectures

Meanwhile, our public arts and culture activities continue with our next Penny Lecture, “Why Do We Fear Migration?” by journalist and author Robert Winder. The lecture takes place on 18 April between 5:30–19:15pm in the Emma Cons Hall – and as ever, attendance costs just a penny. Register your place on our events page.

Our next big Morley Gallery exhibition features the finalists of this year’s Inspired By… competition, run in conjunction with the V&A Museum. Running from 8–25 May, come down and see how adult education students from across the UK can take inspiration from existing works of art and create something entirely new in a range of artistic media. For more information visit our events page.

And of course, the highlight of the summer is the Morley College London Festival of Arts and Culture, with a theme of “Planets” in honour of Gustav Holst. The festival runs from 27 June–14 July, and more details are available on our Festival Update.

Finally, the annual Staff Awards and Summer Party will be held on 26 June, from 3:30–5:30pm. Details about staff nominations will be circulated shortly!
