Morley celebrates Permanent Collection at special event

Last night, friends and stakeholders of Morley College London and Morley Gallery gathered at a special event to celebrate the college’s Permanent Collection.

Morley Gallery curator and manager Dr Jack Davy gave a brief history of the collection – which dates back to the reconstruction of the Waterloo Centre after its bombing in World War II – and outlined future plans for its enhancement and conservation.

Two Morley Gallery volunteers spoke about their recent work to catalogue, digitise and preserve the current collection, making it available to a wider audience by the summer of 2023.

And a new donation to the collection by tutor and former Programme Manager Kate Wilson was unveiled by the artist. She joins a roster that includes Maggi Hambling, Bridget Riley, Frank Connelly, Denzil Forrester, Glenn Hellman, Jane Joseph and more.

Ask at the Morley Gallery about how to visit and view the Permanent Collection.
