Learn from Kylie Minogue’s Producer

This term we are pleased to launch a brand new series of courses as part of our Music Technology programme entitled The Producer Series, bringing industry professionals into Morley’s studio.

In the first session on Saturday 19 March producer Greg Fitzgerald will lead a workshop on Advanced Vocal Production.

Greg has worked with major recording artists and record labels. He has achieved No.1 chart positions in the UK, Europe, Republic of Korea and Australia as well as two top five U.S Billboard chart positions.

Greg produced and co-wrote the title track for Kylie Minogue’s ‘Fever’ album, which has sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Additionally ‘Fever’ won a ‘Brit Award’ for ‘best international album’. Greg also co-produced and co-wrote ‘Burning Up’ from the same album, which featured on Kylie’s ‘Showgirl’ tour mixed with Madonna’s ‘Vogue’.

Greg produced and co-wrote ‘Forbidden Fruit’ for Jessica Simpson’s album ‘In This Skin’. Album sales exceeded 7 million copies.

During the workshop you will discuss the all-important ‘soft skills’ you will need in order to bring out the best in a singer/artist whilst avoiding ‘pit falls’ that will potentially lose you work.

You will also learn to use a comprehensive range of vocal production techniques, including tuning/timing correction with Melodyne, reverb/delay effects, EQ/compression and de-essing using various processing software.
