Financial support for HE Students

Morley College London Bursary

Morley College London will be able to offer a bursary for higher education students from academic year 2025 to 26. This could help with your living costs and additional study expenses, such as course equipment and materials.

Criteria:

  • Home fee status
  • Tuition fees of £7,995 or £7,200 Full Time and £4195 Part Time
  • Household income of £25,000 or below

There will be 46 bursaries of £500 for full time students, and 12 of £250 for part time students.

Applications open in September 2025.

Higher Education Hardship and Inclusion Bursary

This bursary will be for students facing short-term financial problems.

Criteria:

  • Home fee status
  • Tuition fees of £7,995 or £7,200 Full Time and £4195 Part Time
  • Taken out the full funding available through Student Finance England (or Wales) and a household income of £30,000 or below

Applications open in September 2025.

Maintenance Loans for HE Students

Eligible students are able to apply for Maintenance loans on our Higher Education Courses. Students should apply directly to Student Finance England for the loans and should apply as early as possible to ensure that the appropriate funding is in place at the start of the course.
Maintenance loan payments are paid directly to the student from the Student Loans Company, and Morley will process appropriate attendance data to the Student Loans Company to facilitate payments.

Additionally eligible students can apply through Student Finance England for 

  • Adult Dependants’ Grant
  • Disabled Students’ Allowance
  • Childcare Grant
  • Parents’ Learning Allowance


Travel Support for HE Students

Transport for London (TFL) 

As a Higher Education student, if you live in a London borough you can get discounted travel with an 18+ Student Oyster photo card. Please apply through the TFL website

National Rail

Aged 16 to 25 or a Higher Education student aged 26 or over you can save one third on standard class rail fares throughout Great Britain. A 16 to 25 Railcard costs £30 and it’ll save you one third on rail fares throughout Great Britain for a year. Please apply via https://www.16-25railcard.co.uk

Learning support for HE Students

The Additional Learning Support (ALS) team can help students with disabilities to get the most from their time at Morley College London. If you are applying for a HE course at Morley College London and you have a learning difficulty or disability, please get in touch with the ALS team as early as possible. We will arrange a time to meet with you to discuss any reasonable adjustments that you might require on your course or in the college. You can email us at learningsupport@morleycollege.ac.uk with any support queries or to arrange an appointment.  

Students with disabilities including a physical or sensory condition, a long-term medical condition (including medically recognised mental health difficulties such as depression or anxiety disorder), or a neurodiverse condition, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD or Autism can receive support via the Disabled Students’ Allowance Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). We encourage you to make the application to the DSA as soon as possible as the process can take up to 14 weeks. If you would like some help with the application, please get in touch with the ALS team.

That’s why our Careers service is here to support you in making informed decisions about your next steps, whether that’s progressing to further education, entering the workforce, or exploring new opportunities


We provide resources, CV and cover letter support, and signposting to ensure you have access to the support you need. You can also contact the National Careers Service, where you can arrange a dedicated one to one meeting with a careers adviser to receive specialised career advice.
