We are pleased to welcome students back to our Centres as planned from the beginning of term 3 in April 2021.

The health and safety of students and staff is our top priority and so we are taking a number of measures based on a thorough risk assessment of all our buildings.

These measures meet or exceed Government guidance on reopening, whilst providing a productive and safe learning environment for staff and students alike.

Many of our staff are continuing to work from home, which means there are fewer people in general around and about our buildings. This – along with smaller class sizes – is one way in which we are safely managing the capacity of our buildings to ensure there is plenty of circulation space.

For those who join us learning onsite, you will notice a few differences in our buildings that are broadly similar to those in your local supermarket. These include:

  • Perspex screens in reception areas and other public spaces
  • Clear floor markings to help everyone maintain social distancing
  • An enhanced daily cleaning regime to ensure that learning spaces are kept Covid-secure over time
  • Hand sanitising facilities throughout the building, and self-service cleaning equipment at workstations
  • Washrooms that are limited to use by only one person at a time

From March 2021, we have also implemented a mandatory face covering policy in corridors, communal areas and teaching spaces – much like supermarkets and other retail/public indoor environments. (Information on exemptions is available via national guidance.) Please ensure you bring a face covering with you to college.

There will also be posters throughout each college building, reminding us all of our collective responsibility to keep to the new arrangements.

NOTE: the videos below were filmed before the implementation of the mandatory face covering policy.
