We recognise that students join Morley at all stages of their life and careers and have an Careers service that will support you in making informed decision over your next step and your progression.  This service is Matrix Accredited and is available to all current students and Prospective student and please email advice@morleycollege.ac.uk for more information and to book a one to one session with a qualified adviser.

Help find the right course for you to study 

Our qualified and experienced Careers and Information Advice and Guidance Officers can talk through your options which can include different levels and whether the course has specific entry requirements, subjects we offer, opportunities to progress to the next level and possible careers. That way you can know you are making the choice that is right for you.  

You might never have had to write a CV or covering letter, or it may have been decades since you last did. Don’t worry. We can help you. Our Careers Advisors work closely with course tutors and have developed a knowledge base around each curriculum area and what careers they lead to. Depending on which course you are on, you may have a class workshop on CV writing, applying for a job or writing a cover letter.  If not, or you feel like you need some more specific, personalised advice.

The team offer UCAS workshops which cover the application process and how to write that stand-out personal statement. They also offer individual appointments where you can discuss your choices, options and  next steps.

Application for Provider Access in relation to other Education and Training providers

Introduction

Morley College has arrangements for managing the access of providers to students at the College for the purpose of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.

Student entitlement

All students aged 16-18 are entitled:

  • to find out about technical education qualifications and apprenticeships opportunities, as part of a careers programme which provides information on the full range of education and training options available at each transition point
  • to hear from a range of local providers about the opportunities they offer, including technical education and apprenticeships – through options events, assemblies and group discussions and taster events
  • to understand how to make applications for the full range of academic and technical courses

Opportunities for access

The College offers a comprehensive Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance programme and an overview of this programme can be seen in the College’s Careers Plan above.

The College will make a suitable space available for discussions between the provider and students, as appropriate to the activity. The College will also make available ICT and other specialist equipment to support provider presentations. This will all be discussed and agreed in advance of the visit with David Lipington or a member of the careers team.

Providers are welcome to leave a copy of their prospectus or other relevant course literature with the Lead Careers Advisor so that they can be displayed in the Careers Section of the library.
