The Morley and ACJ Lecture Series: Autonomous Objects
April 18, 2018 @ 12:00 am - May 12, 2018 @ 12:00 am
Morley tutor Anastasia Young will give a talk about her experiences as a jewellery artist.
Her eclectic work is characterised by the use of narrative themes, and the wide range of techniques and materials which she uses.
Come and hear her talk about the thought processes behind her work, and how the writing of her technical jewellery books influenced her own practise.
Anastasia’s jewellery has been exhibited internationally and examples of her work are held in the permanent collections of the Science Museum, London and Central Saint Martins Museum. Having written three technical jewellery books (Thames & Hudson, A&C Black) which have been translated into seven languages, Anastasia is well known as an educator through her teaching and writing. She regularly lectures at Central Saint Martins and Morley College, and has been a director of The Association for Contemporary Jewellery since 2017.
