As part of the ACJ & Morley Jewellery Lecture Series, Judy McCaig will be doing a talk called Silent Path.
Judy McCaig is a Scottish jeweller, printmaker and painter, who lives and works in Barcelona. She took a degree in art and jewellery at Duncan of Jordanstone School in Dundee and was granted a post-graduate degree specializing in jewellery and photography. She has travelled extensively, winning a travel scholarship she visited the USA to study Native American history and culture and after studying for an MA at the Royal College of Art, her travels took her to Egypt and Europe.
On her return to London, she studied printmaking and set up a workshop at 4011⁄2 Studios in Stockwell. From 2000 until the present day she has been teaching at The Massana School of Art and Taller Perill in Barcelona, also giving intensive workshops in Europe, Latin America and Canada.
She exhibits internationally and has work in many public and private collections, including the British Museum, Crafts Council Collection, London, the National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh and The Rotasa Foundation, California.
Her work combines mixed media including metal, paint and found objects in a series of brooches.
She is teaching A Riveting Masterclass at Morley College
