Penny Lecture: Scooters, Waterlilies, Buddhas and Dragons
Every year, people from all corners of the globe embark on an annual pilgrimage to create the Carnival of Venice.
It is these artisans, these reenactors, these corsetiers and Bon Vivants that make up the world of carnival. Join 20-year veterans Lynda and Daniel Kinne as they take you on the colourful, creative, and madcap journey from the workroom to the ballroom.
About Us: Lynda and Daniel met on the fashion degree course at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where they launched A LA DISPOSITION, their brand of directional menswear, womenswear and accessories. A compelling interest in historical cut and construction techniques led them to their first Carnival in January 2001 and they have attended virtually every year since.
Lynda Kinne currently works at Morley College as the Programme Manager for Fashion: Advanced and Higher Learning, which includes the Access to HE Fashion Studies, HND Fashion and BA (Hons) Top-Up in Fashion, validated by Ravensbourne University.
Daniel Kinne divides his time between the HE Fashion courses at Morley College, where he works as both tutor and technician, and the BA (Hons) Theatre and Screen: Costume Design course at Wimbledon College of Arts. His specialisms include design for menswear, womenswear and costume; tailoring; corsetry; and historical costume.
Current projects include the launch of their ANATOMIEXFASHIONLAB, providing customised support for fledgeling design brands and recent fashion graduates.
