This year Morley has developed a number of Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) and on 25th May 2017 we will have our first Open Day to launch them.

A HND is a work related or vocational qualification which is the equivalent to the first two years of a degree. They focus on helping you to develop the higher level practical skills that you will need to work in a specific industry.

We will also be providing information on our wide range of Advanced Learning and Access to Higher Education courses – a course you could complete before taking on a HND. Access courses are equivalent to A-levels in terms of difficulty, and offer an alternative pathway into higher education. We have a range of these courses from fashion and health to human sciences and digital media.

Come along to the College on Thursday 25th May to meet our expert staff and look at our facilities including our science lab, music recording studio and fashion studios and gain information on the application process and finance.

Higher National Diplomas

Our HNDs courses are taught by staff that are both industry specialists and academics.  They will help you to develop these skills meaning that you will be ready to go straight into work once you have completed the course. Alternatively if you are interested in going on to university, they are also recognised as a route into degree programmes.  The second year of an HND programme is approximately equivalent to year two of a degree so you may be able to progress to the third year of a degree once completed.  As well as developing practical work related skills you will also learn the academic skills that will help you to succeed at university including research skills and higher level study skills.

Interested in applying for one of our HNDs? Browse the full list of courses and click ‘register your interest‘, we will then get in touch and provide more information on the course, how to apply and who you can speak to at our Open Day for further support.

Access and Advanced Learning

If you are thinking about going to university, considering making a career change or want to return to education at an advanced level our Advanced Learning (Level 3) courses will be for you. In addition, we have a range of advanced learning (Level 3) courses for those seeking a qualification in its own right but which can lead to employment or higher education.

These include complementary therapy diplomas, professional qualifications in accounting, counselling and education, City & Guilds accredited courses in photography and music technology, and foundation courses in art and textiles.

For the majority of our Access and Advanced Learning courses, eligible students can apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of course fees. In addition, if you are applying for a loan to cover tuition fees for an Access course and you go on to successfully complete a higher education course, you will not have to repay the original loan.
