Morley Gallery | Made2017: Printmaking, Bookbinding and Ceramics
January 20, 2017 @ 12:00 am - March 9, 2017 @ 12:00 am
In Printmaking, Bookbinding and Ceramics, students are encouraged to use a range of materials and technical processes to explore and discover their personal creative response.
Both departments offer extensive specialist resources which allow students to explore the range of possibilities that the diverse materials and techniques offer. Seeing the work of the two departments side by side showcases the different ways in which students interpret and use visual language. These forms of personal expression demonstrate and make physical the nuances of form, tone, texture, line and surface.
Specialist tutors in each department bring extensive professional expertise which informs the teaching and learning. Students benefit from the wealth of experience brought into the workshops by those professional artists.
In addition, The ‘Past Matters’ project, supported by the London Ceramics Circle at Morley looks at how students have been inspired by the work of industrial potteries. Look out for the prize winner who will be announced at the private view.
A display of blocks and prints from the recent new Laser Cutting course demonstrates how our departments are engaged in current process and practice as well as exploring historical perspectives.
This is an exhibition featuring the work of Morley College ceramics and print students.
Work will be for sale.
